Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. She began her Broadway career performing in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress and director has spent most of her career working alongside well-known directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford in the near future will play opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In the form of it is a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney Digital Television's channels. Ashford will be returning in 2023, and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which created Hamilton. Ashford was most recently seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the first impeachment proceeding in America in Over a Century. The two-season run she had on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first significant part. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Also, she has been in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original part in the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and was raised in Denver.
